I offered him a cup of tea while he had started narrating, "Mahima doesn't let me do the household things. I earn. She manages the house. Me always busy with the office works, hardly gets time to be with her. But after work, I always make it up for her with surprise dinners and datings. These six months from our marriage has been the best. Until, your husband came into our relationship as an intruder."
I cleaned my throat. He was angry. I could feel it. If I weren't a girl, he would have broken my neck till then.He sipped the tea making a sound which I didn't like at all. "Marrying with Mahima was like a dream come true. Until yesternight. She was awake late night. I happened to wake up because of the beepings of her phone. I never ever thought she would cheat with me, her own husband. She told me everything after she got caught red handed. I literally felt like my world had been turned upside down."
His eyes turned moist as he was uttering those words. I was glancing at him very minutely, observing his perspiring body.
He looked at me in a confused way. And then smiled saying, "Finding an address is a very easy task!"
With these words he brought me to reality.
"Uh..not a big deal! So now what to do? Marrying Subhangsu was like a situation demanding thing. This marriage is also a formality."
I told him everything that I had been facing these all damn months after my marriage. "We aren't in contact. He lives his life with his own terms and conditions. And me too."
I never thought of chasing those black coats as I don't wanna get involved into this. And anyways, who would see a divorcee girl in a good way? Society would always give me a dirty look as I am the only prostitute the young boys are attracted to.
"Well sorry to interrupt but I have a meeting at 9 am sharp. Must reach the office by then.So...." I said with a rush in my voice.
"Yeah..no problem. But this fucked up thing should be discussed. Here's my card. Contact me once you are free."
And then he went. He had a great smile though. A voice quite manly. Why could a guy like him betrayed by his wife? Hell with destiny!
I immediately rush to the bathroom and got myself ready. I took my laptop and booked a two-wheeler.
Boss was really appreciating me today for the project that's approved by our clients.
"Well done, Anvesha! You really did a great job." Fake or genuine...atleast my colleagues responded. That's enough for me. Work. Yeah I love work. The environment here at Red River Company is quite good. But...whatever. There would always be back bitching because of my well famous husband who ruined half of my life.
"There's a new intern joining today, Esha! I want you him to work with you in this new project. I know you will assist him properly."
"Yes, Ravi Sir. I will."
Damn! Now here another disaster.
Ravi Sir was my Director. He worked under our crook-necked manager who loved bossing around people.
Ravi sir had known me for a while. He still had this thing called patience. He understood my situation with my family. And moreover, I was lucky to work under Ravi sir's supervision. And the team I had was also supportive. Maybe that's the reason, I had been managing things quite smoothly.
"Esha, I think Kushal is waiting for you in your cabin. Go gear him up and make him a little comfortable."
Kushal? Seriously....Why should I have to get someone of my ex's name to work under me? Oh Lord! What's more there to come? Aren't you already happy to make my life shit?!
I gathered the papers from the conference table and took my bold walks to my cabin. As I reached, I saw Kushal Dutta. A bold guy, height a little shorter than me, beards slightly growing, wearing a Fossil black leather watch. His eyes were just like the innocent child that's excited to get a piece of candy bar. The room was filled with his Red Addiction deo. Wearing a white shirt that just fitted him the correct way possible. His hair completely well combed with a few turning towards his face. And a smile, that can just make an enemy fall in love with his victim. I was really thrilled to see him.
Soon my mind stopped working and commanded me to just look at him the whole damn time. How can someone be so perfect?
"Hello Anvesha ma'am. This is Kushal Dutta. The new intern."
Those words just brought me to reality. I immediately went to my table and organized the project papers. My mind still pinching me as his voice really had a thing. The way a gentleman had.
I instantly put myself together. I reacted as if nothing had happened. Which was obvious. By the way!
"Uh-huh Kushal. Yeah Ravi Sir mentioned about you. Come sit." I didn't even do that direct eye contact and I just continued by looking and flipping the carbon papers one by one. "So, I do think you will be comfortable enough with RRC. The Real Estate clients arrived today. So they will be working with us in this project. I have been searching for a few consultants who would be financing us so that it could upgrade the company as a whole. So, since it's your day 1...I won't be giving you a lot of workload."
"Okay Anvesha ma'am. I understood. You can mail me the consultants number. I would be contacting them one by one." He said straight. I looked at him. He was watching me with a smile. His eyebrows moved a little bit higher.
I adjusted my spectacles and cleaned my throat. "Umm. So I am gonna mail you the numbers. And Kushal, call me Esha. It's not needed to ma'am me anymore."
What? Seriously! What had I just told him? Ohh damn! Esha please shut the fuck up. He was just an intern. Nothing more.
I somehow managed to look at his eyes. He looked at me in a confused way. Well, of course, that would happen. He was 6 months younger than me, though.
"Sure Esha. Not an issue. I would love working with you." - Kushal came forward to me from the other side of the table. He leaned forward. I didn't know what exactly had been going on. His hands slowly moved to my notepad on my desk and wrote his mail ID.
"And, you won't be able to send me the numbers if you don't have my mail ID because the HR isn't present today. I haven't received my ID card yet."
My body turned really hot. I was unaware. And the way he leaned towards me gave me a little shock within. I was nervous and worried, both at the same time.
"Yes please. Thank you. Ku-Kushal!"
He smiled and went. Oh dear God, why do he need to give that smile everytime.
No esha! Stop thinking about him. Just stop yourself. You are married into a confused relationship. You can't get that innocent boy in danger. You can't let that happen.
Should I change my project? But how would that be possible. There's a lacs of investment already done. "No no...just continue. Let's see. What's written in destiny".
