The Affair - Giving Life a Chance!

Sathvik Das People say, "You meet strangers and they turn into your closed ones." But do they ever thought, "Strangers are the two faces of a coin that reacts according to the way you control them?" I lie on my bed with this chilly room temperature that suits me perfectly. Yes, I messaged back. I don't know if I've committed any crime! Giving life another chance isn't counted as crime, right? After Naira left me behind, I completely covered myself in loneliness. Naina Dut, the girl who once belonged from the same hometown as Arushi Roy, just reminded me of some beautiful yet drastic memories of me and Naina. Some love, some hatred, some lust. But honestly, I've loved her with all my heart. Such a fucking bitch filled with innocence! I almost give up on myself, my job, my dreams for her...and at the end I am the big lover identified. Never have I ever thought, that Arushi's gonna approach me first. But if it's destiny, then it is! We excha...

The Affair - Is this Justice?

Arushi Roy Life's like a roller coaster. Today you might be having an amazing lottery of a lakh rupees and tomorrow you might end up broke. One can't assume how everything's gonna be. The most ultimate unpredictable thing on earth - LIFE - a 4 letter word. Jotting down sentenced after sentences sitting in the first row of my class, I sometimes feel lifeless. People say "It's really great being a topper, always motivated, always up-to-date with notes, no pressure from parents, blah blah!" But, in reality, it's not so. I regret being a topper. I even dislike the way my college mates watch me as I walk. "Hey, see Arushi Roy, the BMS topper girl." Sometimes, I feel like assassinating them in front of the professors. Yeah, they will be heading me to jail, whatever! It's five past thirty in the evening. I somehow manage to free myself from those so called classmates who runs to me after the class gets over. I jot down notes so that they can ch...

The Affair - Should I or Shoudn't I?

It's seven past eleven in the evening. The metro is a great rush. People heading off to their respective destinations. As the peak hour to depart from offices and other institutions is going to end in a few minutes. There is constant honks of the four wheelers showing their frustration in the traffic. The two wheelers manages to create their own passageway between those cabs and trucks. It's dark as one can notice with the ticking of time. But here, amidst the city of lights and traffic, one can't even comprehend the beauty of the silent nights. A few labours, with pale faces, wearing their so called banyan-dhoti are heading home with their thellas. This is the country's culture. Here, people wakes up, work, earn and take their daily ration to their family so that they can survive the night without empty stomach. And then there's these Bade log (the rich ones) pampering their child with cleanliness and healthy foods.  I somehow cross the busy road via the pavem...

Inseparable - The New Beginning (last part)

My conversation with Kushal went on....And guess what? I no longer care about my Ex. Yeah, learned to give my life a second chance. It had been 4 weeks since my divorce. Yes, Arjun and I were completely happily divorced now. Sometimes, I do get along with Arjun. Thankful to God for letting me know someone like Arjun who helped me take this major decision of my life. And, of course, Kushal. Who had been there at every point of time, as I was dealing with the most bad phases of my life. I too heard from Arjun that Subhangsu and Mahima had engaged. Well nice, if he had been shifting his response from many girls to a single girl. Supporting his father, still. Not because it's a compulsion. But because, I really feel good spending time with my so called dad. Atleast he reminds me of my family, who stayed with me....without giving any taunts.  The new project of RRC had been on the verge of completion with a profit more than 5 lacs which was way more than the margin we all planne...

Inseparable - 4

"Good morning Esha. I have talked to a few consultants of which two turned up for the investment. And there's one more name KSA Ltd, who wants to meet us before starting the investment process." Kushal walked inside my cabin, his eyes fixed in the print out copy of the consultants list. "Morning Morning, come sit. Great great. Then why wait. Book a meeting with KSA Ltd asap." "Sure thing, Esha. Well your eyes seems tired. Haven't had a good sleep last night?" Kushal noticed. I immediately turned my eyes to the laptop saying, "Yeah, I prepared the model and the logo, as instructed by Ravi Sir, so that he could enjoy his family vacation in Kolkata." Kushal gave a short laugh. He called the guy from the canteen for two cup of coffee. "Sorry Esha. I woke up late so ran to office without breakfast." "Yeah no problem. I too need some coffee. It was a long night, last night." We both started working for the next four...

Inseparable - 3

"C'mon...you go girl! He seems a good boy. Atleast start chatting you Dumbo!" My so called sister always pushes me for a relationship, to start a new life again. And, honestly, there's nothing left now between Subhangsu and me. As I was chit chatting with her, I picked the card. Yes, the card of the husband of my husband's girlfriend.  "Yeah...talk to you later bro! Gotta finish a work!" Since, overthinking was like my best friend forever, I thought twice before giving him a call. I really don't care about Shubangsu and who he fucks with. But since we weren't legally divorced, I had to abide to the marriage. Because, there was this guy who really loved her and had been crying over for some shitty things that my husband did. After two rings, he picked it up. "Hey Arjun...this is Anvesha. I hope you are free now so that we could discuss about the matter." "Yes sure. So first thing's first. I planned on going to the black co...

Inseparable - 2

I offered him a cup of tea while he had started narrating, "Mahima doesn't let me do the household things. I earn. She manages the house. Me always busy with the office works, hardly gets time to be with her. But after work, I always make it up for her with surprise dinners and datings. These six months from our marriage has been the best. Until, your husband came into our relationship as an intruder." I cleaned my throat. He was angry. I could feel it. If I weren't a girl, he would have broken my neck till then. He sipped the tea making a sound which I didn't like at all. "Marrying with Mahima was like a dream come true. Until yesternight. She was awake late night. I happened to wake up because of the beepings of her phone. I never ever thought she would cheat with me, her own husband. She told me everything after she got caught red handed. I literally felt like my world had been turned upside down." His eyes turned moist as he was uttering those w...

Inseparable - 1

After the long day, I directly went to the kitchen. My hunger was at it's peak. There were a few breads lying in the fridge. I took them out and put them in the toaster. There might be an egg left, I thought. I had no courage left to cook something. I boiled the only egg left and had my dinner gulping those breads with water. It was the month ending, and like those working bachelors I too was broke. It happens. When you stay all alone in a city, far from home, slogging the whole damn day under an infuriated crook-necked boss, friends calling only when they need relationship advice or money....and ofcourse a family who don't support a married girl working in a city living alone.  Yes, I was married because I had to. Not because I wanted to. A husband always showing off his money, dating numerous girls which he thought were the angels from the Greek World.... That marriage for me was more like a formality, as I had to look after his ill father. God's choice of creating des...

The Unplanned Meet

The Unplanned Meet "Hi, is the chair occupied?," a significantly serious looking face approached me. Well, the weather was perfectly soothe. I was having a "me" time with my coffee in the leftmost corner of the coffee house. I had been a little pissed off as I always wanted my personal space. "Yes, please!", I directed him for a seat. Unfortunately, I didn't want to! But....the rest were all full. I concentrated on my coffee. Sipping slowly, the boiling espresso, which I would have probably enjoyed if the geeky guy wasn't present there. He had ordered a Indian Cardamom tea and immediately logged in to his laptop. I was relieved. Atleast I didn't had to indulge into a communication. Well you can be perfectly clear by now, that I wasn't a social person. I preferred to stay more with myself. He interrupted my thoughts with another question, "Hi, I am Ajoy. IT is what I slogg the whole day...and what about you?"  "Umm...hello. T...
