The Affair - The perfect Date!

It's almost midnight. I have tried sleeping really hard, but couldn't. Am I thinking too much? Or am I not thinking at all? Sathvik is a nice guy. But I am committed to Rohit! What about Rohit?! Damn... am I a player or something. I go to the kitchen switch on the light. I boil some water on my electric kettle and take a tea bag from the basket. Maybe this will help. On one side, theres Rohit who doesn't even care if am alive or not. On the other side, Sathvik. It's just been three days and I already feel good spending time with him. He's really supportive. I lean my waist to the only raised platform that's attached to the wall where the stove has been placed. Thinking about these whole damn thing that I have put myself into, I started drinking the tea. Deep in my thoughts, I don't even realise that Anu have woken up because of the noise that I have made in our silent kitchen. "Arush? Everything okay?"

She made me come back to reality.
"Uh..hope so."
"You are still thinking na?"
"Mmm." I give her a shrug.
"Damn! Tu v na, seriously. Told you na that you should break up with Rohit. I will be more than happy. And by the way, Rohit is like a once in a blue moon character in your life."
"Sahi bol rhi he, Should I give myself a chance?"
"If you aren't,  then I am calling Rohit...NOW!!"
"Hey...no no! I will. I surely will."
"Do it now, dammit. Tomorrow you should spent the whole day with Sathvik. Please don't ruin this opportunity. And don't start this beautiful love story with a lie."
I don't know why, but something inside me felt bad...and good too at the same time. Atleast I will be free  from that cage where I have put myself into. A relationship where nobody plays a role.
I gather courage and dailed Rohit's number.
His number had been busy. "Hmmm? At this hour whom he might be talking to? God! Is he cheating on me?"
I call again. This time he have received.
"Hey, sorry to disturb you midnight. But there's something really important."
"Can we talk later. I am busy now"
"Ohhh...maybe you're busy with your new pet?"
"What are you taking about Arushi? Are you out of your fucking mind?"
"I know you bastard. You don't even care if I am dead or alive. I am breaking up with you."
"Aah...please talk about it later. I am really busy now."
"No more excuses. I really am fed up with you. It wasn't a relationship. It's always me in this relation. What's the point! I am not a commodity to play with. Never call me again. Nice meeting you. Goodbye!"
I disconnect the call. I immediately blacklist his number. I am satisfied now. I cried. Really hard. Anu hugs me. She's been there for me always. She consoles me a bit. No, what I have done isn't a mistake anymore. Why to be with a person who never shows any effort. "If he would, then the scenario could be something different now".

Next Morning

Arushi Roy & Sathvik Das

"Hey. Am waiting outside your building."
"Yeah...I am ready. Coming."
She wears a blue short kurti, beautifully worked with white doings. She's excited as she has no idea where Sathvik will take her today. She puts a light lip color on her lips. A little kajal that suits her completely. She literally runs as fast as she can so that he wouldn't be upset because of her being delay.
Sathvik there standing for her with a Honda Activa 6G, Blue Glitter Metallic. He's in a yellow t shirt that complete goes with his personality. That leather watch he wears make him more attractive.
"Wow. Someone's gonna give a party."
"Ouu...yes! Bought it two days back. Thought of giving a surprise."
"I am. So where will you take me Captain?"
"At your service ma'am."
Both of them zoom towards the only destination that only Sathvik have known. The road journey really have been a amazing one. She holding at his back. He, on the contrary, a little more shy than before. They chat along the way. In almost 20 minutes, they reach a small alley. There's only a small tea stall towards the right side of the road. It's a point where people would enjoy their cigarettes and Chai. There's two more bikes and a car parked by the stall. Sathvik parks his two new two wheeler to the left of the stall. We start taking a walk.
"Here, hold my helmet."
"Sathvik...are we there?"
"Yeah...just a little walk from here."
The alley's totally like a kaccha road. Arushi and Sathvik step forward towards the greenery covered alley. There's huge trees, and shrubs, probably like mother nature has totally created her own beauty.
A couple of strands of her hair falls at her beautiful glowing face. They talk and talk...about life, family...and most importantly relationship issues. And then there's a huge turning which led them to a jaw dropping place. Arushi's feet stopped automatically devoring the beauty. It was the river bank of a tributary from the largest river in the State. The wind's blowing at a greater pace now. A thin line of the forest towards the other side could be seen. The river water has been rushing for its destination giving the viewers an attractive  breath taking look. Two to three couples have been spending their quality time by the side. The sun rays has been kissing the waves of the riverbed.
"Hope you liked it."
"Huh...I loved it. Never been here before."
"Come...let's go sailing!" He winks at her.
She blushes.
They rented a boat. The one rowing the boat, initiated a conversation about the way things are here. It's beauty. It's peace. His earnings. Next, he plays soft music of Kishore Kumar on the keypad phone.
Sathvik's sitting right beside her clasping her hand, in order to ensure her safety.(so that she don't trip) He looks at her attractive eyes while she smiles with a sense of awkwardness.
"Are you happy?"
"More than enough. I still don't remember when was the last time I smiled so peacefully."
"Okay. That's convincing though."
She adjusts her hair again and again, but the wind doesn't allow her to do that. Sathvik have sensed her and leaned a little forward, took the strands of hair that's irritating her and slowly put then back behind her ear, slightly touching her jhumka. Both of them are really close now, their closeness defines their loneliness and togetherness at the same time. They don't know what their destination would be as much as the river where they have been sailing upon. In no time, they reach the middle most part of the river. The sun rays now gets distracted by her beauty. The sunbeams fall upon her moist skin which made her cheeks shine. Sathvik couldn't take his eyes off her. Maybe he's falling for her, maybe not.
"Hey...please don't stare." Arushi smiled a little pressing her sweet little pink lips.
"Aaah. Sorry. I was just wondering how beautiful you are. And that fragile heart of yours, much more beautiful."
"Thanks. I really feel good. Thanks for bringing me here." She grabs his hand with the other hand, pressing it tight. Maybe, not wanting to leave them. Never.
"Lo pahuch gye!" The sailor's voice brought us back to reality.

The location on the other side of the river have been much more interesting. At the bank, where the river and the sandbar meets, a few worn out wooden logs are floating. Sathvik directs the sailor to go get another trip as they will need some more time. They take off our footwears and walk by the side of the river. This time Sathvik held Arushi's hand with the fingers completely clutching each other's. While the other hands held their footwears.
"So, never had been in love before?" Sathvik asks.
"I did. A year back. I was stupid. I was the only one maintaing the relationship. And you?"
"Uhh.. understood. Everybody gets involve in this immature love once in a lifetime. I too had been in love. But our fate didn't match. She's happy now with her new boyfriend because of whom she cheated on me."
"Ooh. That's sad. I am really sorry."
"Hey..don't be. Sometimes kuch cheeje adhuri hi theek he. Atleast, I have learnt a lesson now."
"Hmm...but don't worry. God's never been too rude on anyone. There will be someone somewhere who will be there for you. Supporting you in every way possible."
"And if I say, Maybe I found her. What will be your reply?"
"Uhh...it's a heavy question."
After talking short step walk for ten minutes, we sit there, on the pebbles. Our feets touching the cool water. The waves teasing our toes...in every seconds due to the gentle breeze.
"Haha...you don't have to answer anything for now. Just for now, be here with me...and enjoy the beauty."
"Absolutely." Arushi close her eyes as she feels the breeze touching her skin. She smiles. This time her teeth out as she identifies the wind speaking to her...with a sound. Maybe, it's the call. The call of love!
